Gluten-Free Breads That Don't Remind Us of Carpet

Let's face it... GOOD gluten-free bread is almost impossible to find, and if you're a carb-loader like me, you understand the struggle. There's been countless times I've Googled the brand, read reviews, and made myself the perfect slices of avocado toast to take one bite that leaves a pile of dust on my plate. Here's a list I have compiled that has passed my strategic testing and I have become a regular consumer through the process. Bread so delectable you don't even have to toast it! (winning).

1. Canyon Bakehouse

This loaf will forever be at the top of my list. I've been hooked for years. Compared to most utterly disappointing slices, Canyon's selection never fails. This is the perfect bread for toast, grilled cheese, and just a plain peanut butter & jelly. I'm not sure how they do it, but this is by far the softest allergen-friendly bread I have, and possibly will, ever encounter. Their selection offers Mountain White, 7-Grain, Hawaiian Sweet, Country White, and more.

2. Udi's Gluten-Free Whole Grain Bread

Udi's has clearly earned itself the largest restaurant recognition amongst GF bread options from my observation. Never to fail, every time I'm feeling a burger, I absolutely love seeing Udi's name on the menu. Don't get me started on when I hopped on the Jersey Mike's and Udi's mix-up. My point is, Udi's bread is reliable, accessible, and all around flavorful. We may say "make gluten-free bread bigger," we can let it slide for the ease of usability that is offered all-around with this brand.

3. Rudi's Organic Bakery Gluten-Free Homestyle Multigrain Bread

Yes. All I have to say is yes. Rudi's is soft, fluffy, and is singlehandedly the culprit of my "regular bread" flashbacks. Alongside their immaculate bread offerings, we should also have a moment of silence for the hamburger buns on the shelf. They're buttery, never crumble, soft, and squishable. I can barely cook, but the first time I microwaved a veggie burger and slapped it on Rudi's buns, I had to tell every GF person I knew. Thus beginning my next food hyper-fixation, anyways, thank you Rudi's for reminding me that there is hope in the gluten-free burger bun market.

4. LiveGFree Wide Pan Gluten-Free White Bread

I was hooked on LiveGFree for the longest time, and part of me still is. Their Aldi's selection had the only accessible options in small-town New York five years ago, therefore this will always be a classic. This bread got me through the best and the worst of the times, and I owe my young GF days to LiveGFree because their brand name was easily comprehendible for my Father when he'd go get groceries. This bread is immaculate with a short toasting time, avocado, and everything bagel seasoning. This meal combo got me through high school. I love you LiveGFree.

5. Trader Joe's Gluten-Free Bread

Trader Joe's is the perfect stop if you're a newbie at being gluten-free. Their bread will never begin with a letdown, and you'll get hooked from the start. When I lived in New Jersey, this bread and their acted as my lifeline. Honestly, best time of year is when the pumpkin-themed items hit the shelf, it's a must try. Trust me. Trader Joe's bread not only passes my verification, but they're also a one-stop-shop for the best packaged baked goods. You'll become a regular in their aisles.
