Earlier this month, the famous Agata & Valentina opened up a brand new outdoor 100% gluten-free cafe at their Upper East Side location.
As you may already know, Agata & Valentina has been one of my favorite New York City gems for a long, long time. It's refreshing to have the ability to walk into a grocery store knowing that you can shop freely without scanning apps like FIG or GF Scanner. At a place like Agata & Valentina, you can just be, and as a celiac myself, this feeling is unmatched.
On June 1, Agata & Valentina officially opened their doors to a new outdoor cafe, located at their Upper East Side store on 1st Ave. If I had been in the city on this day, you already know I would have been there immediately.
The cafe offers breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., weekend brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and dinner until closing time. The brand-new cafe menu features wraps, burgers, focaccia bread, salads, a variety of desserts and more.
To begin our visit to the cafe, we opted for the chicken salad wrap and the organic chicken paillard, a decision that proved to be highly satisfying. The paillard was accompanied by arugula, cherry tomatoes, olive oil, and a balsamic glaze, enhancing the rich flavor of the chicken. The chicken salad wrap was served with spicy mayo, complemented by the traditional tomato and lettuce combination.
You know me - I always need a sweet treat after doing literally anything, so, of course, I had to shoot my shot with the blueberry scone and cannoli combo. These two deserts were served with the utmost freshness and didn't last much longer after this photo was taken. The cannoli filling was sweet, but not overpowering in the slightest, which shows that Agata & Valentina has mastered the perfect balance of all flavors on their new cafe menu.
I have visited Agata & Valentina many times, and each visit is always filled with excitement and delicious food. Whether it's their impeccable croissants, creamy cannoli, or scones, they excel in everything they offer. I highly suggest heading to the Upper East Side to experience this exceptional cafe - it's truly worth it.
